Have you ever thought about adding trail running to your weekly training regimen, but were intimidated by the lack of information or knowledge of gear needed or best location to get started? If you fall into this category or you already run trails and just want to fine tune your trail knowledge, then join us for our free 2 part training series taking place at Franke Park here in Fort Wayne. This training series will be supported by the 3 Rivers Ultra Racing Team and the Trees Indiana Trail Challenge race.
These FREE training sessions will take place at Franke Park at the BMX parking lot (click for directions). NO RSVP or SPECIAL SHOES required.
We will be covering the following agenda on each specific date:
Tue, Sep 30 – Finding your right trail shoe, understanding the trail maps and beginner tips for running on trails. Q&A
Tue, Oct 7 – Review of trail gear and accessories, and discovering local trail options. Q&A
Each training session will have approximately 25 minutes of great trail running information and Q&A, followed by an easy 2-6 mile trail run (you choose your distance) on the Franke Park trails. Experienced runners from the 3 Rivers Ultra Racing Team will be on hand to help give instruction, answer your trail running questions and lead you on the run.
This trail running series will be a great introduction to the trails and will culminate with a chance to test your new skills by participating in The Trees Indiana Trail Challenge 4 mile run!
This event is WEATHER PERMITTING, so in case of inclement weather, e-mail us for a make-up date.
